The Australian Agribusiness Forum Global Opportunities Local Expertise, held at Crown on National AgDay, will explore the greatest growth opportunities in the expanding agricultural sector. The forum will be divided into three sessions – processing, distribution and retailing. Speakers include WA Governor Kim Beazley, National AgDay founder and patron Gina Rinehart, SpudShed owner Tony Galati, CBH Group general manager marketing and trading Jason Craig and Thomas Foods International chief executive Darren Thomas (pictured). Business News will moderate Q&A sessions throughout the day. The forum coincides with the National Agriculture & Related Industries Day Gala Dinner to be held in the evening.

A “quiet” lunch with Susan Cain November 20: 12pm AIM WA is hosting lunch with Susan Cain, thought leader and author of Quiet – The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop Talking, at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. In her book, Ms Cain argues society undervalues introverts and explains how much we lose in doing so.

She explains the rise of the extrovert and shows how it has become part of our culture. Ms Cain has written for The New York Times, The Atlantic and The Wall Street Journal, and her TED talk has been viewed more than 30 million times.

WA lunch forum: Managing business in times of uncertainty November 25: 12pm The Australasian College of Health Service Management is hosting lunch at the Hyatt Regency with guest speaker, Serco chief executive Rupert Soames. Mr Soames, the grandson of Winston Churchill, will discuss how organisations need to reassess their directions and priorities to accommodate for changing markets, regulations, political and economic environments and fiscal government requirements.

He joined public services provider Serco in 2014 after working as chief executive at engineering firm Aggreko for 11 years, where he oversaw a tenfold increase in the company’s market capitalisation.
