Sturt Creek Outstation

Located in the southeast Kimberley region of Western Australia, Sturt Creek is the outstation of Ruby Plains Station and covers an area of 3,150km2. The property is also part of the Canning Stock route which travels down from Halls Creek.

In addition to the flood plains of Sturt Creek, the surrounding country is Blacksoil flats, soft spinifex ridges and sand dunes. The Sturt Creek runs from the north to south of the property and continues into the Desert to Lake Gregory.

A quiet and comfortable homestead is located on the banks of Sturt Creek. A large semi-permanent waterhole can be seen in the background, bringing an abundant bird life with it.

The cattle operations on Sturt Creek outstation are much the same as Ruby Plains, with mobs of cattle shifted back and forwards between the two.
