S. Kidman & Co employs staff in a diverse range of positions across its 13 cattle properties and Feedlot operation. The Head office is based in Adelaide with our stations located in rural Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Our Feedlot is located at Sedan, South Australia.

Bore Runner (Immediate Commencement) - Helen Springs

We are seeking an experienced Bore Runner for Helen Springs Station, situated 140km North of Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.

Reporting to the Station Manager, the Bore Runner is required to check station water points and maintain water facilities and pipelines. Other duties include trough and fencing repairs and vehicle and workshop maintenance. Sound mechanical knowledge of Kubota motors and pumps is required, along with a strong regard for workplace health and safety.

Applicants must have good communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.

Quality air-conditioned, single room accommodation is available and all meals provided.

Fixed-Wing Pilot/Station Hand - Durham Downs
We are currently seeking applications for a Fixed-Wing Pilot/Station Hand position at Durham Downs Station, situated approximately 220km west of Eromanga in the South West Queensland Channel Country.

Reporting to the Station Manager, your main responsibilities will include aerial stock mustering, checking of stock and facilities and flying company personnel between properties. You will at all times adhere to regulatory requirements and the Company's safety and operational standards.

When not engaged in aerial operations, you will be required to undertake Station Hand duties and assist with general day to day station activities, including working with livestock.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • Hold an Australian CPL with aircraft class rating for Single-engine Aeroplane (SEA)
  • Minimum 300 hours total time
  • Minimum 100 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC)
  • Low-level rating and Aerial Mustering endorsement*
  • Experience flying a Cessna 172
  • Current Class 1 medical
  • Current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Current Class C Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence
  • Australian resident status.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous Station Hand experience (on-ground mustering and livestock handling skills)
  • Remote and regional area aviation experience as a single pilot

Station Cook (Immediate Commencement) - Helen Springs
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Station Cook for Helen Springs Station. The position is available for immediate commencement.

Helen Springs is located in the Northern Territory, 140km north of Tennant Creek.

The successful applicant will need to be capable of carrying out the following duties:
  • Planning menus;
  • Ordering supplies;
  • Preparing tasty, nutritious meals for up to 20 people;
  • Maintaining the kitchen, dining room and food storage areas in a clean, tidy and hygienic state and;
  • Other domestic type duties as required.
Basic cooking skills and excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness are essential. An appreciation for remote rural living is recommended.

Quality single room accommodation is available and all meals are provided.

We are seeking an experienced Station Cook to join our team at Naryilco Station. The position is available for immediate commencement.

Naryilco is situated in far South West Queensland, 110km North of Tibooburra and 110km North East of Cameron Corner.

To be considered for this role, the successful applicant will need to be capable of carrying out the following duties:
  • Planning menus
  • Ordering supplies
  • Preparing tasty, nutritious meals for up to 12 people
  • Maintaining the kitchen, dining room and food storage areas in a clean, tidy and hygienic state and
  • Other duties as required, e.g. light gardening and domestic tasks.
Basic cooking skills and excellent standards of cleanliness are essential. An appreciation for remote rural living is recommended.

Naryilco - Apply Now

Station Hand (Immediate Commencement) - Morney Plains
S. Kidman & Co, Australia's most respected and successful beef producer, has an opportunity for a Station Hand to join the stock camp team at Morney Plains Station. The property is situated 120km west of Windorah in South West Queensland.

To be considered, applicants will need to have experience with Station Hand duties including:
  • movement, handling and monitoring of cattle;
  • use of horses and bikes;
  • general station maintenance and repairs - including fencing & welding;
  • vehicle & machinery operation and maintenance; and
  • land management.
A Class C Drivers licence, experience riding horses and handling cattle in a calm and controlled manner, along with a strong commitment to workplace safety and animal welfare is required. A Motorbike licence is preferred or be willing to obtain.

Air-conditioned, single room accommodation is available and all meals provided. An appreciation for remote rural living is recommended.
