Switch on festive lights for a chance to win a holiday prize

Now is the time to start thinking about entering the region’s Christmas lights competition.

If all you want for Christmas is an international holiday worth $15,000, you might want to enter the South Burnett’s 2018 Hancock Prospecting Christmas Lights Competition.

Hancock Prospecting and the Georgina Hope Foundation have sponsored the competition which boasts a grand prize of a holiday in Singapore worth $15,000.

The grand prize package includes return economy flights for two adults and two children from Brisbane to Singapore, five nights’ accommodation at the Shangri La Hotel and comprehensive travel insurance.

Previous winners of the grand prize are not eligible to win again this year.

There will also be secondary categories covering the entire South Burnett, so everyone can get involved in the competition.

These categories include Kingaroy urban and rural, Nanango urban and rural, Blackbutt urban and rural, Wondai urban and rural, and lastly, Murgon urban and rural.

The South Burnett Regional Council is providing the prizes for each of these categories, offering $100 for first place and $50 for second place.

If you want to get involved, all competition entries must be given to the council before Thursday, November 29, and all houses are to be on display for judging from Monday, December 3 to Monday, December 10 between the hours of 7pm an 10pm.
