After being “imprisoned” on the 16th floor of a Sydney quarantine hotel for having come too close to the potentially infectious Nationals minister Adam Marshall, Corrections Minister Anthony Roberts finally walked to freedom last week.

Corrections Minister Anthony Roberts managed to eat his way through lockdown with speciality pies sent from Adelaide from his good mate, mining magnate Gina Rinehart.

While some fellow isolating ministers chose to pen diary entries (Police Minister David Elliott), hit the rowing machine (Transport Minister Andrew Constance) or grow beards (Environment Minister Matt Kean and Deputy Premier John Barilaro), the Lane Cove MP worked on seeing how many pies he could eat.

As for where he obtained the pies, The Sauce can reveal a box of the very best arrived from South Australia soon after word of Robbo’s predicament became known to his mate Gina Rinehart.

“Gina sent me a care package. I got a box of Kidman Pies sent to me from Adelaide,” Roberts told The Sauce.

“There was enough here to last me to the end.”

In between feasting, Robbo also took time to read Rinehart’s book “Jokes and Joys”, compiled by Cambodian Daughters, a group of Cambodian women Rinehart supports financially.

The joy of ending iso was short-lived for Robbo, with the Premier soon sending all of Sydney into lockdown.

Gina, send more pies.
